Anxiety Attack Symptoms
Anxiety attacks can occur at any time and for no apparent reason. You may be sitting in your office doing paperwork when all of a sudden you experience feelings of anxiety just as intense as if you were about to jump out of an airplane. Your pulse may race, you may sweat, tremble, and feel intense nausea.
The symptoms of anxiety attacks include the following:
- Nausea
- Increased heart rate
- Trembling
- Perspiring
- Chest pain
- Stomach pain and cramping
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Feeling faint
- Feeling chilled
- Hyperventilation –breathing into a brown paper bag can help if you experience this symptom
- Feeling short of breath
- Experiencing hot flashes
- Throat feeling tight
- Problems swallowing
- Feeling like you’re going to die
Most anxiety attacks last 15-30 minutes and go away on their own. Although frightening, the symptoms will fade eventually. If you experience an anxiety attack please seek medical attention. There is relief available.
